Needle Felting Masterclass
So, New Year is coming we decided to dedicate this master class for making Blue Horse the symbol of the year.
All we need is:
- Blue and white wool
- Yarn (brown for mane and tail, white-for scarf)
- Little bit of plastic (for eyes and sweet)
- Felting needles (thick and thin)
Take a small piece of wool and roll up an oval, that will be head of our horse. Than pick up a thick needle and start felt all around. Needle should penetrate into a wool deep enough to create solid oval. Use the same technique to create body.
Cover our oval with blue wool. On this stage you may use also thin needle.
Make the same with body. But for body leave one edge loose. We need it to attach the head.
Take two small parts of wool to create ears. Felt them on brush.
Attach ears to head. Also with needle.
The same technique we use to create arms and legs. You can see this on photo ;)
Than join body with arms and legs. I prefer to finalize them all together. In some parts you may need to add more wool to create more “thickness” of our horse.
I’ve put some white wool on nose and belly.
Take some brown yarn and make tail and mane. Sew to body and head. You can see it on the picture. From black plastic, model eyes and glue them.
Make a “smile”. Outline it by thick needle. I’ve added some dark blue wool to “add” a colour.
Then I add some small details. Eyebrows, eyes, etc.
Crochet special scarf for our horse and of course model a sweet.
